Invisible Children

The assembly about Invisible Children was very sad.  It was about the children in Uganda being kidnapped and forced to fight as soldiers because of a horrible civil war.  They are taken by the LRA.  Invisible Children is trying to stop this.  They set up a bill where Joseph Kony is captured, so the war will end and the children in Uganda will not be kidnapped.  In the assembly, they focused on a boy living in central Africa named Tony.  Tony was a live and energetic kid that was living in a Uganda at the time of Africa's problems.  Tony's mother died of HIV and then Tony became an orphan.  Invisible Children kept checking up on Tony and when Tony was older he came to the United States.  He toured with invisible children and shared his story.

Tony toured with a man named Nate.  They grew really close and when Tony went back to Africa, Nate and another woman went and visited him.  They were having the time of their life until Nate was killed because of a bomb.  Nate helped many people in Africa and the U.S.  Now Invisible Children is starting to set up connections in the African villages, so they are able to contact other villages to warn them if their is a possibility of them being invaded.  This assembly was sad and brought tears to my eyes.
